About

Glad that you clicked this link, because now you get to hear me talk about myself! My name shockingly is Geoffrey Leatherman and have been practicing this whole woodworking thing my entire life.

A little boring history about me…My Dad is the one who you all can blame for getting me into woodworking. By profession he is a master carpenter who worked for a large construction company my whole life. But his passion was carpentry and woodworking and evenings and weekends would teach my brother and I all the tricks of the trade.

Moving ahead a bit, I started actively setting up my shop and dabbling on my own a various points in my adult life. My wife and I lived in CA for about 6 years and while there I had a small shop and built some small things for our home and friends, but really didn’t have the time to invest like my heart really wanted.

Over 10 years ago we moved to the promise land, Portland, Oregon and after we purchased our home I was finally able to fully invest in slowly building my shop. With some help from my Dad, we set up a small shop in the front corner of my garage, but over the years it has transformed into over half of my garage dedicated to my shop. There have been many upgrades over the years and can finally say that my shop is a place that even my Dad feels at home. Just like any good woodworker though, there are still so many tools that I desire to add to my shop, but space and money sometimes don’t allow that to happen.

I appreciate your willingness to read all of this and I hope that you will enjoy following along with me on my projects, as well as checking out my IG account for more detailed pictures and stories.

Thanks for stopping by,
Geoffrey Leatherman
